Marketing Placement


This is an excellent opportunity for a Marketing student to undertake a full-time placement with a leading manufacturer of retail fuelling and specialist composite products. OPW is a Dover Corporation subsidiary. The Skipton based Marketing team is responsible for all Marketing activities for OPW in the EMEA region (including the KPS and Fibrelite brands) and for Marketing of the Fibrelite brand’s industrial segment globally.


We are seeking a creative, self-motivated, pro-active individual with strong communication skills to join our team. During the placement, you will assist in the implementation and analysis of targeted direct Marketing strategies and campaigns which will maintain the brands high profiles online, drive online traffic to our websites and deliver a constant stream of targeted new enquiries to our sales divisions.


You will have knowledge of the digital and social media space, a clear strategic sense of how the digital environment is evolving and an appreciation of its role in integrated Marketing communications.


You will be results driven, analytical and forward thinking and have the ability to work across multiple projects and campaigns to tight deadlines.



  • Assist with all aspects of Marketing campaigns from inception to orchestration
  • Report on and analyse performance of campaigns, customer touchpoints, competitors and market
  • Support management of promotional material both digital and physical
  • Support event Marketing from pre-event promotion through coordination and planning to setup and delivery
  • Social media Marketing
  • Research and identify potential events and conferences to attend
  • Account based Marketing: identify new key accounts in target areas and nurture to point of meeting
  • Research and propose new digital Marketing opportunities
  • Internal updates on new Marketing content and campaigns
  • Create PowerPoint decks for external and internal presentations
  • Assess potential trade publications to target with editorial content
  • Manage website content using SEO strategies to drive targeted traffic



  • Currently undergoing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing or a related subject
  • High calibre of written and spoken English


Essential Skills

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyse performance data across platforms against goals, identify key insight and propose strategy changes
  • Be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative, as well as operate effectively as part of a team
  • Thorough, diligent and an excellent eye for detail
