Inventory Clerk

Overview:

The Cycle Counter performs daily inventory counts and required reporting in accordance with Midland’s Policy and Cycle Count Procedure.  The Cycle Counter will ensure timely and accurate cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inventory cycle counts and record results
  • Complete system transactions as needed in order to assure inventory accuracy
  • Perform bin audits, location clean-ups, and follow-up counts as required
  • Ensure that all rack locations are properly identified and labeled
  • Cycle count and dispose of obsolete materials as requested
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors regarding pertinent shift / inventory information
  • Keep clean, organized, and safe work area
  • All other activities deemed necessary by management for the completion of product orders 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to operate a forklift (both stand-up and sit-down) or to be trained in its operation, and ability to obtain company’s internal forklift license

  • Proficiency in English comprehension and expression (verbal and written)
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Proficient computer skills including keyboarding and data entry
  • Dependability and reliability in work performance and attendance
  • Willingness to adhere to all required company policies
  • Ability to work all scheduled and adjusted times, and/or work overtime to accommodate production.  
  • Ability to apply basic math skills and accurately record counts
  • Ability to utilize a weigh scale

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.  The employee is required to move, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with assisance infrequenctly
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Will use and operate office equipment such as a personal computer
  • Will often work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, with exposure to disagreeable elements including temperature variations, smells, and other elements inherent to a machining operation 
  • Must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others
