Overview:

 

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for the execution of the Midland Quality Assurance Program through the gathering and analysis of data in support of our customers, operations, supply chain and supporting functions. The Sr. Quality Engineer utilizes quality and continuous improvement tools and methodology to enhance the quality assurance program, solve problems and rectify any issues in the correct way.  Provides leadership and direction to other functional team members including but not limited to operations, supply chain, customer service and engineering in support of Midland’s products and services.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities: 

 

  • Ensure compliance with all quality regulations, standards and corporate policies including but not limited to AAR M-1003 for assigned department.
  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality assurance program
  • Accountable for the long-term implementation and sustainment of quality processes
  • Monitor and audit the quality of manufactured and purchased goods
  • Conduct internal and/or supplier audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Ensure timely resolution of product/supplier failures, corrective actions and preventive actions
  • Preparation of QA reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled
  • Completes all job specific training
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area
  • Performs other duties to achieve overall business unit metrics

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringor similar technical field
  • Certifications desirable in one or more of the following: CQE, CQM, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

 

  • This position is performed in a combination of manufacturing environment and office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors
  • Position requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Position will require use of Personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, other office equipment, Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint
