The Sr. Quality Engineer  is responsible for the execution of the Midland Quality System. Through the gathering and analysis of data in support of our customers,  operations, supply chain and supporting functions, the Sr. Quality Engineer utilizes quality and continuous improvement tools and methodology to enhance the quality system and overall operations.  Provides leadership and direction to other functional team members including but not limited to operations, supply chain, customer service and engineering in support of Midland’s products and services.

The Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible to:

 

  1. Work safely.
  2. Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
  3. Accountable for the long term implementation and sustainment of quality and continuous improvement tools and methodology.
  4. Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  5. Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  6. Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  7. Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
  8. Preparation of QA reports.
  9. Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  10. Maintains tooling and gages necessary to effectively produce final product.
  11. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
  12. Completes all job specific training.
  13. Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
  14. Performs other duties to achieve overall business unit metrics

 

Required Education and/or Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or technically related field
  2. Certifications in one or more of the following a plus: CQE, CQM, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

    Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members.  Conflict resolution.  Excellent interpersonal skills.  Excellent verbal and customer service skills. Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirement
