Field Support Technician

The Field Support Technician will provide effective and timely technical support for OPW products/systems directly to Distributors, End Users, Engineering Firms, OPW Sales Team, and OPW Product Managers. Routinely submit an event report to the appropriate internal team members as requested.

 

Insure an optimal level of technical service and field support for OPW’s Sales Team, Distribution, End Users, and Engineering Firms. Innovate and implement the means to continually enhance the level of technical service and support offered by OPW. Ensure that distribution and end-users are supported to install and maintain OPW products and systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical Support over the telephone, via email or in the field as needed.
  • Use and continually update the OPW FAQ’s Technical Compendium.
  • Provide sales support in the form of site take-offs for system sales such as Flexworks, Island Forms, and Multiport configurations for Distribution Sales and OPW Sales Team as needed.
  • Travel, as needed and at short notice at times, to investigate sites that have experienced technical service events.
  • Establish and maintain a means of recording and routinely report technical service events for OPW products to include troubleshooting, diagnosing, corrective actions, and follow-up.
  • Provide training in the field for distributors, contractors, and end-users on installation, use and maintenance of OPW products, as required. These will include, but are not limited to, Flexworks and EVR training. The OPW Sales Team will have the primary responsibility for territory training.
  • Review published technical data and make recommendations for changes to best meet local requirements.
  • Assist with field test sites as needed, including CARB tests sites in California.
  • Communicate with all internal stake holder’s any product trends, design recommendations, and competitive information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain efficient working relationships with all other departments and field personnel.
  • Field travel approximately 60%.
  • Other assignments as identified.

 

Experience:

  • Associate degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Position requires 8 years’ Technical Service experience, preferably within the PEI industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Disciplined work ethic
  • Detail Oriented and well organized.
  • Team Player
