Summary Description: OPW Retail Fueling has an opening for Repair & Maintenance Engineering Manager with responsibilities in Smithfield, NC.  This position is responsible for:  Developing the technical expertise and managing the maintenance team in all facets of work and to provide technical expertise to support daily operations related to manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position reports to Director of Operations for Retail Fueling.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop the technical expertise to support Retail Fueling
  • Supervise employees and contractors within the Maintenance Department.
  • Identify, procure and manage the purchase of machinery, equipment, parts, and contractors to ensure efficient operation of the business.
  • Assist with the design and production of manufacturing equipment used to build and/or test product.
  • Select and purchase initial perishable tools.
  • Design and maintain automation equipment.
  • PLC Programming.
  • Proficient in programming automated robots and specialized equipment.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive PM system
  • Assure OPW Retail Fueling ability to produce products through proper tooling techniques.
  • Assist in purchasing capital machining equipment for RF facilities and production.
  • Oversees Continuous Improvement for Maintenance including the execution of long term strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to travel internationally to support global manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to interpret blue prints, specifications and schematics.
  • Provide expertise in regulatory safety requirements including but not limited to ANSI/OSHA/NFPA.agencies.



  • At least 10 years of Manufacturing and Robotic programming.
  • Bachelor degree in Mfg. Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or a related field from an accredited university or industry experience.
  • This position is based in Smithfield, NC.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
