Job Title:        Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Location:        Richmond, VA (Plant 1)



What we are looking for:


We are looking for a Manager who will be responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering Team. This position will also be accountable for identification of opportunities related to sustainability, leading improvement teams, training workforce, and obtaining measurable results.  


What you will be responsible for in this role:


  • Analyze and assess current operational condition, define objectives and oversee the implementation of sustaining manufacturing projects and tools focused on PFMEA and risk reductions
  • Owner of Standard Work /Work instructions, its development and sustaining.
  • Promote, organize, plan, deliver and ensure adherence of Lean practices and concepts throughout the site
  • Identify and evaluate equipment requirements to support sustainability initiatives and incremental productivity/capacity gains
  • Build and facilitate multidisciplinary short- and long-term Lean activities and training
  • Implement and follow up on all Lean improvements and most importantly, sustain the results
  • Communicate plans, actions and results to the team through a visual management system
  • Participate directly and indirectly in all Kaizen events
  • Develop team members into Lean Leaders through a Lean Development Program
  • Responsible for optimizing current manufacturing methods and processes
  • Work closely with Product Development Engineering and Tooling Engineering for development of new product manufacturing processes


What are the basic qualifications?


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in transforming operations in a metal-mechanic manufacturing environment.
  • 7 – 10 years of managerial experience.


What are the preferred qualifications?


  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification a must
