Job Title:        Manager, Warehouse     

Location:        South Chesterfield, VA (Richmond, VA)           

 

What we are looking for:

 

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the end-to-end process of receiving, storing and timely issuing of material to the shop floor in support of the production schedule.  He / She will be responsible for managing and developing a team of supervisors and hourly associates.

 

What you will be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Supporting inventory control functions by ensuring proper receipt, storage, rotation and tracking of material.
  • Overseeing cycle counting program ensure compliance to all applicable SOPs and financial policies.
  • Conducting safety reporting, investigation, safety audits, process review and continuous improvement activities.
  • Developing and implementing employee training programs to ensure success in specific job functions as well as company processes and procedures.
  • Ensuring proper transactions are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Optimizing the arrangement of material within the warehouse to ensure efficient use of both space and manpower.
  • Ensuring proper equipment and staffing are in place to support all safety and production requirements. 
  • Managing warehouse needs in terms of space, material flow, and labor required.
  • Partnering with key cross-functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implementing cost, stock, and lead-time reduction projects
  • Addressing performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Tracking and analyzing key performance metrics to determine corrective actions where needed.
  • Working with supplier quality and purchasing to identify and address supplier shipment, labeling or packaging errors.

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing direct reports.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • APICS/ISM Certification

 

 

To be a great fit for the role:

 

  • Experience working in an ERP system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate level or above Excel skills.
  • Experience working in a WMS.
  • Experience with AS400.
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar Analytics platform.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and facilitation ability.
