What we are looking for:

 

Dover Food Retail (DFR) has an exciting career opportunity for a Managing Director (MD), based out of Richmond, VA.  This critical role is an integral part of the DFR Leadership Team. 

 

Reporting to the President of DFR, as an MD, you will establish business plans to achieve revenue and profitability objectives for a > $500 million business with full responsibility for two (2) P&L’s for our display case and glass door businesses. In collaboration with the functional leaders, peers, and cross-functional teams, you will develop marketplace opportunities, lead sales pursuits, oversee internal processes, and provide employee leadership in the achievement of common goals, while ensuring a safe and engaged workforce and top-notch customer satisfaction.

 

What you will be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals and create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio. Focusing on building a world-class team, utilizing and deploying lean techniques, driving continuous improvement activities and achievement of superior performance across all KPIs (Key Performance Initiatives).
  • Proven experience working with customers in key areas, including the business practices, lifecycle management, and regulatory/industry compliance practices as well as managing complex multi-year contractual engagements. Experience in working effectively in a multi-channel selling environment is critical.
  • Success delivering business objectives through effective cross-functional and regional relationship building.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct market sales in technical areas.
  • Capture and commercialize critical customer opportunities.
  • Drive and deliver customer issue project management and escalation.
  • Drive and deliver sales/operational levers to meet forecast.
  • Coordinate Sales Inventory, Operational Planning (SIOP)
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to achieve conversion cost objectives.
  • Coordinate and deliver effective lead times and Excess and Obsolete (E&O) Inventory
  • Execution of P&L to forecast.
  • Commercialization of NPD
  • Hire, assess, develop and grow talent and build world class capabilities, processes and tools.

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Engineering, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, Business)
  • 8+ years of experience leading a Commercial Organization
  • 8+ year of experience owning and delivering a P&L

 

To be a great fit for the role:  

 

  • Demonstrated experience running a robust SIOP process.
  • Advanced professional maturity with a high degree of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and self-awareness
  • Ability to collaborate and adapt in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP and Advance Planning tools
  • Statistical and Business Forecasting
  • Complex manufacturing environment experience
  • Strong understanding and use of KPI’s
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology/industry relevant certifications (i.e. LEAN, CPIM, APICS, Six Sigma)
  • Advanced Degree (MBA or MS)
  • Working in a collaborative team and balancing the needs of individual stakeholders while delivering corporate objectives.
  • High level of motivation, being a self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to operate in a matrix organization structure.
