Job Title:        Material Handler II – Paint Department

Location:        Richmond, VA

Shift:               1st shift 

 

What we are looking for:

 

We are looking for a Material Handler that will be primarily responsible for loading and unloading ALL flat metal material required for daily fabrication of parts.  He/She is responsible for material movements (both physical and electronic), storage/control of materials, and the daily cycle count.

 

What you will be responsible for in this role: 

 

  • Load/unload parts on the paint line.
  • Move the materials.
  • Complete daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
  • Assist in the identification of parts and part descriptions using work order information.
  • Develop and maintain the highest quality standard – zero defects. Work continuously to improve all areas.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Have a working understanding of all basic safety procedures and set the example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
  • Complete and participate in all training to include manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
  • Communication of job status between shifts and continuation of work in progress.
  • Quickly and effectively shift gears to meet changing business requirements.
  • Help establish continuous improvement processes that result in the most effective use of all resources, reducing costs, and improving quality.

 

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of 12 months experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, and/or kneel
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to stand and walk for the majority of the work day
