Job Title: Planner

What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Planner that will assist Operations Management in the development and execution of production schedules consistent with the overall building and shipping schedule of the company. A planner will coordinate with supporting departments to ensure that an adequate supply of materials arrive at the right place in a timely manner.

What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Responsible for inventory management for assigned parts & processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished.
- Time management for daily functions must be documented.
- Apply continuous improvement to process and development of material flow to deliver optimum level scheduling and planning.
- Use best supply chain management practices.
- Plans and schedules workflow for functional department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead-time.
- Analyze data & collaborate in the determination & the subsequent application of appropriate order, inventory, & replenishment policies.
- Coordinate planning and scheduling activities for assigned commodity utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization.
- Maintain manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy and report discrepancies to Planner Supervisor.
- Confers with Planner Supervisor and Assembly Department Supervisor to determine status of assigned projects.
- Identify parts used on their assigned product line and verify placement location on the product itself; also utilize work order information.
- Utilize modeling data & obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations and recovery scheduling.
- Maintains work area in clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Understand procedures for ordering supplies used in work area.
- Uses proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell, and specific types of clothing allowed and not allowed at work.
- Communication of shortages or issues that impact planning function.
- Understands attendance policy and other human resource policies.
- Properly punch in/out.
- Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers and coworkers.
- Make sure we follow all work procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What are the basic qualifications?
- 2 to 5 years of materials and logistics/planning experience in a demanding complex manufacturing environment
- Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
- Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs)
- Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

- Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and decide the best course of action to fix.
- Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors, drivers and/or vendors.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to sit, stoop, and/or kneel
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional extended hours are required.
- Must have a positive attitude.
