Job Title: Senior Industrial Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a team member to join our Industrial Engineering team. This role will be responsible for layout development and sustainment through the creation and revision of processes, line flow and manpower requirements. This team member will serve as a liaison between all parts of the organization to develop customer wants and needs into a manufacturable process flow on the assembly floor.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Analyze and design business processes by applying knowledge of organizational behavior and operations management, gathering insights from stakeholders and industry best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Enhance operational efficiency by assessing and planning workflows and resource allocations, employing research techniques to identify optimal space requirements and equipment layout for improved productivity.
- Support strategic decision-making by conducting detailed analyses of production, labor, and material costs; reviewing financial projections; and utilizing research findings to estimate future resource needs based on market trends.
- Prepare and present reports on product performance and process trends by systematically collecting and analyzing data to provide actionable insights for informed business decisions.
- Assist in managing capital expenditure by identifying, justifying, and completing projects that align with organizational business goals, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Drive performance improvements by implementing best practices and monitoring productivity metrics to ensure alignment with annual business operating plans.
What are the basic qualifications?
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Experience with process design in a manufacturing environment.
- Additional experience in six sigma and lean would be added advantage.
To be a great fit for the role:
- 3D CAD expertise as well as PLM experience (Solid Works & Enovia preferred)
- Experience with solid modeling in production environment is desirable
- Hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customized manufacturing environment
- Previous experience reviewing mechanical designs for improvements
- Intermediate technical skills
- Good problem solving skills with a drive for results
- Good written and verbal skills
- Basic project management skills
- Ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently
- Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong customer focus
