This position is responsible for expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and product systems for TWG. Additionally, the position is responsible for leading, defining, and implementing effective methods to drive new revenue growth.
- Responsible for the leadership of department employees to include the overall direction, mentoring and training, if direct reports are assigned.
- Reviews and oversees product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Evaluates and reviews design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Collaborates with manufacturing, production, and quality control to ensure that parts and/or products meet engineering and customer requirements.
- Examines and Approves Instruction manuals, Service bulletins, Alterations to drawings and technical information, Sales application and other engineering requests as required, first article samples of purchased products as required.
- Acts as subject matter expert on technical matters in legal topics.
- Other essential duties may be assigned as required.
- This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required:
- Must have Professional Engineering Certification (P. Eng Canada), Bachelor’s Degree (US)
- 8+ years of successful experience in hydraulics, and mechanical engineering and familiar with thermos-dynamics.
- 5+ years of successful supervisory / managerial experience or equivalent successful combination of education and experience.
- Experience with the design of castings, sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, machine elements, and machine assemblies. Hydraulics system design, Integrating electronics/software with mechanical elements.
- Gated Product Development processes, Critical Chain, and other similar project management processes.
- Familiarity with all phases of new product development from initial concepting, validation, production, and ongoing maintenance.
- Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Engineering/ MBA and/or proven team building skills and capabilities
- Experience in the design of castings, sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, machine elements, machine assemblies and hydraulics.
- Experience in electronic PCB design, software development, IoT, machine language, etc.
- Experience integrating electronics/software with mechanical elements.
- 3-d CAD systems familiarity Creating 3-d models and assemblies; large assembly management, working knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.
- Must be able to move around obstructions such as boxes, chairs, desks, office equipment and other related items that may be on the floor, move around airports, in and out of airplanes or other approved means of transportation.
- May require lifting up to 25 pounds with or without lifting aids and devices.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing shop and climate-controlled office environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery and cold or hot temperatures.
