Application Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Design valve, cylinder rings and packings for new, replacement, upgrade and reconditioning solutions for reciprocating compressors.
• Utilize engineering knowledge and judgment and the Cook Engineering Standards to determine appropriate solutions to applications.  This includes material and product type selection, sizing, and design configuration.
• Use software tools and engineering programs to prepare the engineered solution for quoting, fully document all design details, and assist sales in communicating the design to the customer as needed.
• Prepare and execute technical presentations at customer locations.
• Support customers with problems, either Cook related or if a competitor had failed to provide a solution. Produce reports for customers following any problems/issues.
• Work with drafting engineer to create production drawings, review and approve final designs before manufacture.
• Support shop floor with questions & queries relating to product designs and drawings.
• Support and train shop floor personnel in taking technical dimensions that are sent to Suzhou for reconditioning.
• Site measuring and redesign.
• Maintain technical engineering standards.

Key Requirements:

Education教育背景:    Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience

3-5 years of professional experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry

Specific experience in reciprocating compressors and compressor wear parts with field services is a strong differentiator

Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage

Good analytical and problem solving skill

Good at to present products introduction at customer locations

Language skills语言:

• Good writing, reading and communication skills in Mandarin and English

Office skills 软件技能:

• 2D&3D CAD skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools as needed to create spreadsheets, Engineering Standards and other documents
