JOB SUMMARY:

Operator I is responsible for operating automated glass equipment to temper custom cut-to-size glass. The operator is responsible for maintaining the equipment through daily, weekly, and as-needed preventive maintenance. The operator supports the glass manufacturing process by operating the tempering oven, communicating with and assisting loading/unloading staff in processing all glass to be tempered, and ensuring the product produced is to specification. Additionally, the operator supports the glass preparation line when required or as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• Operates Tempering Oven
• Sets up glass recipes on equipment for production manually or via computer software
• Manually changes and adjusts recipe parameters as needed
• Selects recipe changes for production via computer software
• Checks the Quality of product produced with every recipe change and throughout the day as required.
• Basic troubleshooting of equipment functions
• Supports staff handling and offloading glass as needed
• Basic Preventative Maintenance.
• Ability to multi-task with the operation of equipment and interactions with team members
• Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIOS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift.
• Ability to sit most of the workday at a desk in a control room operating Glass Tempering equipment up to 80% of the shift up to 10 hrs./day.
• Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours/day as needed per production area.
• Ability to make repetitive motions  as required up to 10 hrs/day.

• Work is on the tempering manufacturing control room and manufacturing floor interfacing with employees, inspectors, monitoring, and supporting the tempering process, supporting the production team as needed and directed.
• May be exposed to loud operating machinery and hot/cold temperatures.⁠
• Use of proper PPE as required per company policy

Work Arrangement : Onsite  

Salary Range : $18.00   - $21.00
