Job Title:        Materials Supervisor            

Location:        Sylmar, CA             



What we’re looking for:


We are looking for a Materials Supervisor will contribute to meeting Anthony International goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by ensuring that the designated finished good items and quantity of items are correctly picked, and shipped according to internal build schedule requirements for incoming or customer specifications for outgoing, eliminating errors and claims.


What you’ll be responsible for in this role:


  • Manage assigned personnel for the Cooler Screen line and or other assigned area to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to line side stock
  • Compares identifying information, counts, weights, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Prepares Bill of Ladings for carriers and international orders and shipping manifests.
  • Directly responsible for the efficient loading of all assigned carriers.
  • Analyzes and resolves work issues or assists workers in solving work problems. 
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers and freight carriers daily.
  • Performs hands on tasks of associates on team.
  • Work overtime as customer needs fluctuate and other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists management in reducing man hours while increasing productivity.
  • Prepare materials support related metrics including supplier on-time shipment, shortages and misses identifying issues and recommending corrective action.
  • Data collection and analysis for KPI’s
  • Review and execution of some tactical daily procurement functions including review demand requirements daily (MRP and Stock Status reports) and coordinate material to support production and safety stock requirements for support Cooler Screen
  • Transact material from stock to WIP
  • Other duties may be assigned.


What are the basic qualifications?


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain and logistics.


What are the preferred qualifications?


  • APICS or ISM Certification preferred
  • ERP (AS400 preferred), MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Speak English and preferably Spanish.

  • Must be detail oriented and thorough in updates to system and reporting while maintaining a sense of urgency.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes along with a demonstrated understanding of logistics, purchasing practices, supply chain management practices, bills of material, print reading and understanding, and knowledge of material control.
  • This position must demonstrate strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, and technical skills along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management within and outside the company.


Physical Requirements:


  • Regularly required to walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Gross manual dexterity (operate a motor vehicle) is also required.
  • Ability to reach with arms and hands; bend, kneel, crouch and/or crawl as well as the ability to see and hear.
  • Able to work night shifts and on weekends when required.
  • General office environment
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move about in office, warehouse and manufacturing facilities.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed to perform job duties. 


Work Environment and Safety:


  • Manufacturing Environment – safety gear such as boots, glasses and earplugs will be required and provided.
  • Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited.
  • The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
