Job Title:        Production Control Manager            

Location:       Sylmar, CA             

 

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for a Production Control Manager who will be responsible for the scheduling function for the Sylmar, CA facility and factory loading across all Anthony sites (Sylmar, CA; Conyers, GA, and Madison, GA).

 

The Production Control Manager ensures the production schedules are optimized across all sites to balance workload and meet customer requirements; in addition to, analyzing mix, forecast and capacity to provide plant loading scenarios and aid plant management in making operating decisions. This position will also oversee the planning staff in scheduling the flow of material through the production cycle and is responsible for training, development and monitoring of job performance of assigned staff. 

 

The Production Control Manager acts as liaison with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service and other departments as required, to identify and resolve constraints impacting customer delivery commitments; as well as, develop and execute a production schedule covering 3 manufacturing sites, and supervise scheduling team.

 

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Supervise the scheduling function and schedulers to ensure optimum lead time and OTD while minimizing overtime.
  • Continually improve efficiency and reduce waste. 
  • Meet deadlines for completion of orders.
  • Resource planning, allocation and deployment.  Cross-train and coach personnel through training and performance evaluation.  
  • Develop and implement procedures for work order planning, work release, progress monitoring, re-planning and completion.
  • Work closely with support departments to identify and alleviate constraints to on-time completion of work orders.
  • Develop production plans based on forecasted and actual customer demand.  Monitor, coordinate and report as necessary, changes in production status or delivery commitments.
  • Develop and maintain capacity requirements plan. Adjust schedules as necessary to balance order demand with available capacity.
  • Communicate delivery status and recovery schedules to Customer Service on scheduled shipments.
  • Assist in assessing and timely reporting of all production control performance drivers.
  • Sponsor and lead process improvement/optimization efforts and ensure sustainment of completed initiatives.
  • Escalate issues to Department and Senior Management as required in an effective and timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned 

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 7+ years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a production or capacity planning role.

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • APICS certification a plus
  • Experience in utilizing scheduling module within ERP system; AS400 experience preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook; basic skills in PowerPoint
  • Solid math and numerical problem-solving skills. Ability to measure / work with fractions and decimals and make conversions as required.
  • Solid analytical problem-solving skills. Ability to work logically and systematically with good time management.
  • Ability to use MS Excel to analyze data and present in a meaningful manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
