WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position is responsible for leading the Compliance program for Dover Precision Components (DPC). In this role, you will collaborate with finance, legal, compliance and business colleagues to develop, implement, and maintain the Compliance Program for the business, to include implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, leading effective training programs, conducting internal monitoring, and auditing, and assisting with investigations, as appropriate, to respond promptly to detected offenses and undertake corrective actions.
Because there is complexity in the DPC business, driven by diversity of technologies and global locations, customers, and channels, it will be imperative that the successful candidate possess a strong intellect, agility, and sound judgement. The position should have strong knowledge of some of the key compliance areas such as: trade compliance, anti-corruption, data security, conflicts of interest, and fraud and abuse laws; and preferably have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Primary responsibilities include trade compliance, general corporate compliance in a global corporation, coordinating across US, UK, India & China operating locations. The successful candidate:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the DPC compliance program, including DPC’s trade compliance program.
- Works with DPC management to ensure that the requirements of Dover’s corporate compliance program are tailored to the DPC and implemented in the DPC’s way-of-working in a sustainable, value-add manner.
- Assists with ensuring that DPC specific compliance policies, procedures and standards are developed, implemented, maintained, and updated for the general operation of the DPC compliance program in a consistent manner.
- Ensures that processes are in place and continuously assessed and improved to maintain compliance with global and regional import and export compliance requirements.
- Takes the lead on compliance under the company’s technology control plan and export controls procedures and on licensing for exports, including ITAR, U-NNPI, EAR, NRC, DOE requirements.
- Serves as the Empowered Official and Federal Security Clearance Officer for Waukesha Bearings.
- Assists with developing, coordinating, and executing training and communications programs that focus on the elements of the compliance program, and other policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws governing the Company.
- Maintains the diligence processes for third parties and customers and ensure that those processes are effective.
- Coordinates compliance training for third parties such as vendors and distributors.
- Assists in the preparation of management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
- Keeps abreast of pending industry changes, trends, and best practices, assesses the potential impact of these changes on company processes, and works with stakeholders to prepare action plans to mitigate risk.
- Collaborates with DPC management to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation, counseling, support, and resolution.
- Conducts regular risk assessments of the activities and operations presenting compliance related risks, the results of which will be used to, among other things, establish or appropriately modify the components of the DPC compliance program.
- Supports monitoring activities to remain abreast of the status of compliance activities and to identify trends.
- Assists in the integration of newly acquired companies.
- Manages or assists with maintaining the gift registry.
- If requested, assists in investigations of potential noncompliance; and
- Aids internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years professional experience, including hands-on compliance experience.
- Prior experience in compliance or internal audit, or closely related experience in a public or private company, is required.
- Experience managing trade compliance, including experience with DDTC requirements, for export licensing, export controls, and ITAR programs.
- Experience implementing process and procedures cross-functionally on needed improvements.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members on management of change.

- Certifications in trade compliance, including export control a plus (CUSECO, ITAR certifications).
- Strong understanding of U.S. and UK rules and regulations.
- Ability to plan, organize and multitask while working in a cross functional environment.
