This position reports to the Production Supervisor and has responsibilities for the fabrication operations as listed and required in the essential duties and responsibilities section.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must have successfully passed required tests including, but not limited to: a) FLAW (Fluxcore), b) SMAW (Stick), c) GMAW (Mig).
- Lays out, fits and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, winch parts, post driver parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Required to maintain accurate and timely transactions in the ERP system.
- Performs related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Have a thorough knowledge & experience in blueprint reading, use of welding tools, welding techniques, layout & fit up.
- May train other employees and help in other departments as required.
- This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or successful completion of a vocational welding school; one to four years related experience in welding of products, pieces and parts similar to those found in TWG’s product line and market segment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have successfully completed all required tests and certifications.
- Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
