Position Summary

Dover Fueling Solutions is seeking to fill a Manager-level role that will manage a team of Program Managers within the Program Management Office in EMEA.  The programs and processes span across the full spectrum of DFS products and technologies.  The Manager role is expected to provide leadership to a team of experienced and inexperienced program managers, each of whom manages medium to large sized cross-functional development programs.  The overall New Product Development process at DFS provides a framework for consistent planning and development of new products on-time, on-budget, and meeting the committed product needs and requires continuous improvement. 


Key Responsibilities

·    50% of time overseeing and coaching direct report Program Managers in many countries in Europe.  Ensure on-time deliveries, quality work products, excellence in leadership, communication, and program management.

·    50% of time managing a critical program for DFS through the establishment and leadership of effective cross-functional core teams (including product management, marketing, product development, sourcing, operations, service/support, and finance).  Assures that process discipline and accountability is maintained through the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of projects from each of his/her direct reports.

·    Active and hands-on management of individual programs, as well as visibility across multiple programs and functions, and work with stakeholder functions to develop strategies that ensure that issues and risks are assessed and dealt with quickly and effectively. 

·    Business Acumen:  Understand the business processes enabled by the products supported and contribute to the solution definition. Clearly communicate all program-level financial commitments to stakeholders.

·    Technical Acumen: Understand the technology concepts used on projects in enough depth to challenge assumptions, estimates, approaches, and risks. Possess general understanding of technical design, implementation, and quality assurance.

·    Project Management Thought Leader: Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices. Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.

·    Adaptable: Flexible during times of change. Adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

·    Collaboration: Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, peers, and other functional teams. Think outside the box to drive to creative solutions when challenges arise.


Profile – Knowledge/Experience

·    Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study with at least 7 years of program management experience

·    Direct people leadership experience of at least 2 years

·    Experience in successfully executing complex, large, high cost/visibility strategic new product / technology programs on time, within budget and scope

·    Experience working with productivity and methodology tools that increase program efficiency and effectiveness needed to successfully manage multiple programs concurrently

·    PMP certification preferred

·    Experience in the retail petroleum industry is a plus
