POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Process Manager will lead the manufacturing operations in a business unit to safely produce high quality Waste Handling Equipment as scheduled.  This position manages the manufacturing operation from raw material through final assembly using Lean Manufacturing techniques for improved production and continued cost reductions creating a continuous improvement culture. Strong leadership skills in team building, goal setting and attainment, communication, strategic planning, and change management is required.   

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: 

  • Management and coordination of unit production and on-time delivery. 
  • Lead and assist in investigation of issues that may lead to production delay or quality problems. 
  • Set a high-quality level for all plant associates, insure documentation of processes.  
  • Review, and edit, if necessary, production work orders. 
  • Discretely plan and implement the execution of the production work orders. 
  • Discrete cell and work center layout improvements. 
  • Planning and Implementing Lean activities (Visual Factory, Kanbans, Kaizens, etc.) in concert with the Business Strategic Direction.  
  • Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the plant manager, is essential. Acceptance of overtime assignments may also be required in order to meet departmental goals and objectives including weekends and holidays. 
  • Participates in the weekly scheduling for the plant. Attends daily production meeting and ensures all paperwork/schedule changes are prepared and distributed to proper personnel. 
  • Fosters a “pro-company” workforce and addresses team member issues as they arise.  
  • Participate in studies and make recommendation concerning scrap, cycle time and cost reductions. 
  • Participate in studies and make recommendations concerning quality and safety enhancement. 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.   
  • 5 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Possess skills in mapping processes, time studies, routings, and workstation set-ups. 
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are a must. 
  • JD Edwards is a plus. 
  • Must be team oriented and a self-starter. 
  • Solid general management, leadership, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to correspond both in writing ideas and orally.  Excellent communication skills necessary. 
  • Ability to analyze issues and situations systematically. 
  • Ability to recommend practical ways using innovation, good judgment, creativity, and strategic thinking. 
  • Problem solving skills including ability to multi-task and knowing the sense of urgency. 
  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering functions. 
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills (8-D, 5-Why’s).
