ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
  • Unload packages, freight, and steel from inbound shipments. 
  • Inspect contents to ensure there is no damage.
  • Verify packages according to the packing list, ensuring that the correct parts and quantities are received.
  • Contact Supplier, Buyer or shipper when a mistake is identified.
  • Responsible for returning unsatisfactory shipments to supplier.
  • Label deliveries and deliver them to their inventory location designated in the plant.
  • Ensure that all packages that are received outside of inventory are delivered to the person that ordered.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control.
  • Assist with corrective actions on part shortages
  • Implement inventory location, maintain inventory locations, and establish new inventory locations as needed.  Ensure that all items are properly located, stored and identified.
  • Control, inspect, and locate materials and inventory in the plant; including, but not limited to, unloading incoming freight, moving materials from the receiving dock to the production lines, moving finished goods from the production lines to the shipping dock and loading outgoing freight.
  • Perform various material handling duties, to include, but not be limited to:  driving fork truck, shipping truck, hand truck, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of inventory storage locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of physical plant, i.e., keep aisle ways, docks, etc.  swept free of debris and uncluttered
  • Must have prompt and regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must gain knowledge with parts and products

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read and above average math skills
  • Excellent Organization skills
  • Forklift certification required
  • Must have above average computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be accurate in checking and counting
  • Must work well with others and as a team
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Some previous experience as a receiving clerk, materials or similar position.
