The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be part of the Markem-Imaje Central Technology Office based within our Warsaw facility.
The role owner will work with Engineering disciplines across all of our Product Divisions to achieve our organisation's manufacturing requirements focusing on:
- developing novel technologies that can be robustly implemented into the manufacturing assembly processes.
- being the first Voice of Assembly (including Repair and Installation) in the design process, starting in the early phases of our product development.
- optimising our procedures and work practices for project delivery and performance.
In this role you will be a Central Team support for more than one Product Division. This means you should expect to travel frequently (one week per month) during specific periods. Note that you will normally be given circa three months notice for this travel.
What you will do:
- Own the replication of novel processes across Markem-Imaje in terms of the specific process and learning required by the wider business to implement.
- Support Product Divisions on specific product development projects to help balance conflicts in workload. This would involve working with the Product Division’s Engineering and Central Process Engineering teams to guide design proposals from an assembly, test, repair and installation perspective to ensure the optimum solution is selected for the business.
- Support the development of our product and process development procedures to improve cross functional performance and project effectiveness.
- Co-operate across Product Division and Supply Chain organisations.
- Delivery of new products through the Alpha stage of development that are aligned with the relevant operational and development teams.
- Delivery of novel processes up to and including Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 into our Operational facilities with the relevant level of justification definition, resource requirements, etc.
- Improvements to our processes and procedures so that we can balance the requirements of our Customers against our Cost and Cash Constraints more effectively
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge on manufacturing processes and approaches.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ year professional experience in engineering projects.
- Experience in generating, developing and implementing novel manufacturing processes (TRL Process) and implementing them into a production environment. Specifically, any experience in developing and implementing Additive Manufacturing (including Design for AM) would be a distinct advantage.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to lead cross functional teams, especially from a remote location, and build relationships / trust rapidly.
- Basic understanding of how to justify capital projects from a financial and business perspective.
- Ability to read and develop mechanical drawings and understand circuit diagrams.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Design for X and drawing 3D systems would be beneficial.
- Experience in Quality tools – APQP – and how they link together.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- High level of English.
- Readiness to work from our current location at 39 Farbiarska Street in Warsaw till the 2nd quarter of 2025, when we are opening our new facility at 105 Katowicka Avenue in Kajetany.
