The Role
We are looking for a passionate, open minded and confident person who wants to use their experience and skills, to be a member of a new innovative team, within a global company, developing next generation of products.
In this role you’ll be working as an electronics technician as part of the multidiscipline product development team within the Global Design Centre, you’ll be hands on with electronic assemblies: executing test plans, reworking and documenting design changes, constructing R&D verification test fixtures, configuring and running data loggers.
You’ll have an opportunity to work on a wide range of engineering challenges while interacting with stakeholders from a variety of functions. You should possess proven track record in building and testing prototype, and experience of working in fast paced engineering environment.
What you will do:
- Assemble electrical test benches and execute the test plans
- Rework SMT electronic assemblies.
- Design harnesses within the CAD tool following best practices.
- PCB symbol and footprint creation.
- Component selection and alternate source research.
- Be able to design and create software scripts to support the testing of hardware using platforms such as Raspberry PI and Arduino.
- Work with EEs to fully realize PCB designs through the entire release process.
- Assure compliance of specific electronic equipment’s maintenance and calibration documentation requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements in design quality.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or title of technician
- MS Office skills.
- Electronic CAD experience. (Altium Design experience a plus.)
- Read and understand electrical schematics and symbols.
- Excellent soldering skills.
- Inventive problem solving, attention to details, eagerness to learn, ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment.
- Be organized and able to multi-task, results oriented, ability to work with minimal direction.
- Experience working with mains voltages
- Competent use of hand tools, machine tools, test fixtures and basic lab equipment.
