In this role you’ll be… responsible to plan, drive and implement direct material spend purchasing activities under defined categories to meet ’s performance against Solaris Laser/Markem-Imaje standards.

You’ll have an opportunity to… lead high level business and strategic negotiations in line with company strategy whilst partnering with senior management and key internal stakeholders.

You should possess… proven experience in category management in an international industrial company where you have successfully managed direct material spend.

Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Reporting to the Global Categories Manager and responsible for the annual plan for the all Direct spend in the assigned categories, and taking direct responsibility for some.
  • Accountable for the definition of Global  Purchasing Strategy for the Category and Subcategories to meet Markem-Imaje/Solaris Laser  business requirements and compliance.
  • Provide forward looking guidance on trends, threats and opportunities, search and move of spend to global best values areas.
  • Responsible for overall Supply Base performance in term of Cost , working capital and performance.
  • Negotiate all Global contracts and get involved / support on Regional level.
  • Provide input to inform the top down target setting process and drive the bottom up Roadmap budget.
  • Engage with key stakeholders on spend, budget visibility, defined roadmaps and driving adhesion to commodity strategy,
  • Manage strategic (SRM) and deal with high level decision makers.
  • Accountable for the Commodity spend and economic performance.
  • Act as a senior focal point and partner with key stakeholders, ensuring full understanding and support of strategic category initiatives.
  • Contribute to the optimization of the organization regarding processes, policy, tools and reporting.


Education and/or Experience of Candidate:


  • Master degree in Engineering, business administration or similar.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen.
  • 5 -7+ years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial  and international environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and ability to partner with senior management.
  • Results driven in a structured approach and build complex contractual agreements.
  • Availability to travel on a regular basis.
