Regulatory Compliance Engineer

As a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you’ll be reporting to the Global Hardware Safety and Product Compliance Manager located in France and be part of a global compliance team spread across the world. Whilst collaborating with the local R&D organization, other regulatory compliance experts across the word and 3rd party laboratories for testing purposes; you’ll oversee the core certifications for all range of Laser products.

You’ll have an opportunity to be the main driver of the regulatory activities and procedures whilst being a link between R&D & external stakeholders and participating in cross-functional projects for new product development and current product lifecycles.

What you will do:

• Participate in product development leading the hardware regulatory certifications for Europe, USA, and Canada. (CE, UL/CSA, FCC, IC)
• Work closely with the third-party laboratories (on/off site testing) and R&D experts to acquire the needed certifications.
• Prepare and support the project team by providing pre compliance guidelines and perform pre compliance test in safety and EMC during product design development stage.
• Proactively stay up to date on the standards, directives, and regulations applicable to your products to keep the products ranges conform.
• Inform/educate stake holders of any forecasted evolutions/changes to the standards, directives and regulations and lead associated projects.
• Assist the regional customer services or trade/importation services to support the business in regions.
• Prepared and able to take re medial/corrective actions during product lifecycle.
• Ensure/maintain the safety conformity of products, by managing regular audits of the products and the processes (internal & external audit, design & production factory).
• Install good relationship with third-party laboratories and maintain an efficient customer/supplier collaboration (responsiveness, cost, delivery quality). Case by case seek for reliable new partners.
• Pro-actively propose improvements in certifications scope, process, partnerships to increase our customer satisfaction and to reduce our time to market.

What you need to have:

• BS Degree in Sciences (preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)
• +5 years of experience in Safety, EMC standards/directives
• Good knowledge of CE, UL/CSA, FCC, Industry Canada regulations including but not limited to Machinery Directive, Low voltage directive, EMC Directive, RoHS and REACH. 
• Knowledge of EMC testing including EMC pre-compliance during product development, EMC testing at external labs, and EMC mitigation
• Strong skills to interpret/analyze mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, diagrams
• Experience in compliance assessment of industrial machines or industrial installations
• Rigor of analysis, sense of details, capacity to adapt and curiosity to learn
• Fluent in Polish & English
• Trips to Safety or EMC laboratories or customer sites.
