In this role you’ll be… part of a global, cross-disciplinary, agile team designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining mechanical subsystems for Markem-Imaje current and future printers.
You’ll have an opportunity to… work with talented engineers in a global environment, building complex products, from proof of concept to production, across a variety of printing technologies targeted to meet our customers’ needs and the strategic objectives of Markem-Imaje.
You should possess… at least a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline and the drive to innovate and contribute to the development of complex electromechanical systems.

Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:
• Develop new electromechanical components, modules and systems for inkjet printers for the marking and coding industry
• Participate in, and lead experimental investigations of those components, modules, and systems
• Work effectively with other team members primarily in software, electrical, and mechanical engineering, but also in marketing, reliability and manufacturing, in order to evaluate new designs, troubleshoot problems, and bring new products to market
• Apply technical expertise and critical thinking to everyday activities
• Follow best practices and tools to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and mechanical subsystem quality.
Education and Attributes of Candidate:
• Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related
• Solid foundations in several of the following disciplines: heat transfer, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, dynamics, electromechanical actuators and sensors, electronics, scripting languages, control theory, conventional machining techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to learn
• Experience with CAD and simulation tools desirable but not required

Markem-Imaje – Watertown, MA, is an exciting expansion demonstrating our commitment to be the innovation leader in digital printing. This new, state-of-the-art, Global Design Center will be the hub for New Product Introduction of Laser- and DOD-based products. The office is situated close to Boston with easy access by car or public transportation.
