In this role you’ll …

Be part of the Product Marketing team planning future Drop on Demand (DOD) printing products, executing New Product Introductions, and generating revenue and profit. You will plan, devise and implement the market strategies for future and current DOD based products within the context of the overall product strategy, driving new product and technology development and optimizing the future product ranges and specifications, while managing the portfolio through the full product lifecycle.

You should possess…

A track record of developing and launching new products- including the ability to segment markets, create customer needs driven requirements, perform competitive analysis, negotiate and optimize product specifications, create supporting business cases, collaborate on the creation of quality marketing communications collaterals and field training materials, and developing value-based pricing of printers and aftermarket materials.

Principal Activities/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage front end product marketing activities, from trends, market segment analysis, and product differentiation to Voice of Customer interviews to needs requirements definition and concept development.
  • Develop strategic marketing plan to drive DOD product strategy, including market segmentation business case analysis, functional requirements, positioning and pricing strategies and maintain the DOD roadmap demonstrating your plan
  • Be an applications subject matter expert for DOD based products and technologies to identify disruptive technology and business opportunities.
  • Interface with R&D, advanced manufacturing, new product introduction teams, global sales, and customers to translate market and customer needs into innovative DOD coding solution sets while articulating meaningful value propositions
  • Promote the DOD line by frequent communication with the sales force and through generation of useful tools
  • Perform Business Development activities in support of present and future customers and underserved markets, including by considering and prioritizing customization requests

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, or a Technical field. MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of DOD or coding and marking industry experience, with a minimum of 5+ years related product marketing experience.
  • Ability to think strategically about product and business issues while managing prioritizations and tradeoffs associated with tactical product development projects.
  • Demonstrated capabilities to handle tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and the ability to find creative solutions.
  • Superior communication (both written and verbal) and listening skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • On the cutting edge of social trends and culture, knowing how and when to engage in them while maintaining brand integrity
  • Excellent organization skills and time management with high attention to detail. 

The Site

Markem-Imaje – Watertown, MA, is an exciting expansion demonstrating our commitment to be the innovation leader in digital printing. This new, state-of-the-art, Global Design Center will be the hub for New Product Introduction of Laser- and DOD-based products. The office is situated close to Boston with easy access by car or public transportation.
