PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The primary function of the Supplier Quality Engineer is to manage supplier quality programs and initiatives. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for the audit of suppliers to applicable Quality/Business System standards (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.).
  • Responsible for the audit of suppliers to industry technical specifications, as applicable.
  • Responsible for the approval and disqualification (when necessary) of suppliers.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining supplier audit records.
  • Responsible for investigating problems found in production and/or receiving inspection when related to supplied material.
  • Responsible for communicating quality issues or concerns with suppliers.
  • Responsible for facilitating MRB for incoming material.
  • Responsible for supporting Receiving Inspection on determination of conformance as necessary.
  • Responsible for facilitating FAI on supplied material.
  • Responsible for material handling of scrap incoming or raw material.
  • Responsible for reporting supplier performance data. 
  • Assist suppliers with quality improvements and drive quality requirements to ensure Pole/Zero is receiving a quality product.
  • Work cooperatively with supply chain on improvments with sourcing partners and the process. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with Purchasing and Engineering on supplier technical/quality issues.
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written. 
  • Must be able to diplomatically work with other departments and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. 
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have knowledge of Quality System standards; AS9100, ISO9001, etc.  
  • SPC and Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Five years technical experience in the electronics industry a plus.
  • Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

WORK SCHEDULES:

 

  • Normal work hours are 8 am to 5 pm.
  • Normal workdays are Monday through Friday.
  • Lunch period is one hour per day, unpaid.
