Duties & responsibilities:

The Vice President, Human Resources for DESTACO will join a global HR organization consisting of peers from Dover’s other operating companies and a small complement of HR specialists and Segment HR leaders at the corporate level.  This team is responsible for developing the future leadership of the Company, based on the identification and grooming of internal and external talent, executive compensation practices that support internal mobility, and the implementation of common HR management practices, e.g., health benefits, Success Factors, etc., that can benefit from economies of scale on a common platform.  HR Leaders from the operating companies play an active role in the development of corporate HR practices.  Knowledge-sharing and task force participation will add to professional development for all VPs of HR.


  • This is an HR Business Partner role, requiring the business acumen and analytical skills needed to become a valuable advisor to DESTACO's president. At this leadership level, the VPHR must lead in a proactive, rather than reactive, way. Having the innate capacity to balance being both strategic and tactical will be key to job satisfaction and success.

Key areas of Engagement include but not limited to:

  • Lead the implementation with the HR team of DESTACO'S HR Strategy that has been developed in alignment with the business strategy.
  • Lead and develop the HR team as key business partners within the DESTACO team to develop the leadership capability to enable DESTACO to accomplish its business strategy and goals.
  • Provide HR advice and counsel to all heads of business units and support functions as well as their direct reports.
  • Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Oversee all Human Resource responsibilities including:
    • Attraction/identification, hiring, development, and retention of talent.
    • Effective delivery of HR services.
    • Support development of a high-performance culture throughout all levels of DESTACO.
    • Oversee the development of compensation and benefits strategy and programs.
    • Interface with Dover Corporation headquarters on global HR initiatives.


Education and experience

Bachelor's degree is required, and a master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.


The successful candidate will possess at least 15 years of generalist HR leadership experience in a global manufacturing environment. Hands-on international experience is critical given the significant global footprint of the business.

  • Capable of working in different cultures with an adaptable approach to influencing in different regions.
  • Previous experience assessing leadership development needs with success in establishing appropriate programs to support talent management.

  • Experience in design, development and implementation of compensation and benefit programs.
  • Ability to manage successfully in union-free environments.
  • Strong business background, analytical, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate, influence and inspire.
