Job Summary:
The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager responsibilities are to oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of our machinery and equipment within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of facility management and machinery maintenance, ensuring that all operational processes are performed smoothly and effectively. This role requires not only technical expertise but also strong leadership abilities to manage a dedicated team of maintenance professionals. The Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager will be responsible for formulating and implementing maintenance strategies that align with the organization's goals while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our operations, minimizing downtime, and enhancing productivity through effective facilities management. Knowledge in machinery operation and preventive maintenance strategies will be pivotal, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for both facilities and equipment.
- Supervise and lead the maintenance team to ensure timely and effective repairs and maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance, conduct regular inspections, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance processes.
- Manage the budget for maintenance activities and optimize costs while maintaining high standards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption to operations.
- Develop training programs for maintenance staff to enhance skill sets and ensure safe practices.
- Create and supports CAPEX project planning and submissions.
- Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
- Drives the Maintenance team in TPM programs in achieving World Class machine availability.
- Participates and supports plant lean continuous improvement activities to drive operational improvements.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Prepares and implements the departmental budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities and equipment maintenance management.
- Strong knowledge of machinery operations, maintenance processes, and industry standards.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing a team of maintenance professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management related to maintenance activities.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders and teams.
- At least five years of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
