  • Create detailed setup instructions and operational workflows for production runs to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and maintain tooling libraries, ensuring proper tool selection for each component.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design engineering drawings and provide feedback on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for new and existing products.

2. Manufacturing Process Optimization

  • Lead the optimization of CNC machining processes to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Implement automation strategies and advanced techniques to increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze machining performance using statistical methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and make data-driven decisions to enhance process reliability.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate manufacturing risks during product development and launch phases through feasibility studies and risk assessments.

3. Quality Assurance & Technical Support

  • Collaborate with quality teams to establish robust inspection plans that ensure machined parts meet customer and company specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues related to machining processes, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Ensure all processes are compliant with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and industry standards like GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & NPI Leadership

  • Act as the technical liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams for seamless product integration.
  • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring a smooth transition from prototype to full production.
  • Work closely with supply chain management to optimize material flow and reduce lead times for new and existing product lines.
  • Train and mentor machinists and operators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.

5. Documentation & Process Control
