Shipping & Warehouse Manager, Equipment

VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift®, Chief®, Forward®, Direct-Lift®, Ravaglioli, Hanmecson®, Revolution®, Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.

This position is responsible for managing all personnel and operations or assigned area. Responsible for leading, developing, and engaging associates to achieve positive sustainable results.

  • Ensure the timely accurate receipts and put away of all inbound materials.
  • Ensure the timely accurate details of all outbound shipments.
  • Direct the functions and personnel of all shifts or functions to achieve desired results per the daily operations plan.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the business unit by developing, implementing, and sustaining best practices.
  • Act as the primary information source for the Supervisors and associates to provide visible leadership and drive a motivated, positive, productive workforce ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Lead Supervisors and associates in continuous improvement processes by focusing /root cause analysis and development of counter measures to drive key performance indicators.
  • Apply consistent, sound communication, and motivational techniques in supervising, mentoring, and administering corrective action with subordinates and associates.
  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with achieving positive business results by prioritizing action steps, setting timelines, identifying, and allocating resources necessary to accomplish business objectives.
  • Assist in the selection efforts of potential candidates for the team.
  • Drive workflow to ensure objectives are met in an efficient manner.
  • Partner with all business partners and leadership to assist with apply policies and procedures for Supervisors and team members by maintaining compliance, consistency, and taking corrective action in compliance with all policies and procedure.
  • Establish inventory practices that supports an inventory accuracy 99.5 percent or greater at all times.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly review of inventory transition to ensure all discrepancies are corrected and addressed timely.
  • Establish and maintain on time shipment to customer of 95 percent based on available inventory.
  • Ensure all associates are effectively trained to execute job tasks and responsibilities to achieve the desired operational results.
  • Audit all time and attendance records to validate that Supervisor(s) are following the organizational standards for documenting and correct all violations timely.
  • Partner with subordinates to develop effective daily pre-shift communications.
  • Participate or lead cross-functional teams as necessary to develop best practices focused on process improvement and leadership development.
  • Lead large scale process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Collaborate with leadership to meet budget / P& L goals / revenue.
  • Functional knowledge of logistics processes and methods to include flow, cost efficiencies, MHE equipment, safety, and quality.
  • Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and labor management systems.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change direction and focus as business needs.
  • Work additional hours and or days as needed, particularly during high volume periods, or critical volume days, to ensure that departmental objectives are accomplished.
  • Logistics coordination collaboration with suppliers, transportation providers and other stake holders.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of operations management, distribution & warehousing, or supervisory experience preferred.

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, business,  or similar field preferred. Any suitable combination of education and/or experience will be considered.


Working Conditions

  • Duties include frequent alternate standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, and moving between locations, throughout the course of the shift(s).
  • Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes, movement of mobile and fixed equipment, possible exposure to hazardous products, dust and other conditions associated with a warehouse operation.
