SUMMARY

Loads and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Load Docks, Delivery Vehicles, and Shipping Containers by Hand or Power Trucks.
Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or manufacturing areas.
Process, sort and stage cargo before loading to prevent damage from Inventory.
Understand the Daily Operations of the shipping department.
Certified Overhead Crane Operations 50,000 lb. capacity
Certified Forklift Operation up to 30,000 lb. capacity
Opens containers.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Moves raw material through the plant to its dedicated work area as requested.
Secures lifting attachments to materials and transports load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Ability to operate the Banding Machine.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
Rig or dismantle props and equipment (platforms/wheels)
Lifts heavy objects (up to 30lbs) by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area
Understands the rigging of material for shipment
Responsible for general yard duties.
General computer skills.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Machine Operator II – Sheetmetal

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Supervisor: Production Supervisor

What we are looking for:

Sheet Metal fabricates sheet metal products and equipment. Work may involve setting up and operating machinery to cut, bend, and straighten metal parts to supply our upstream departments with parts they need.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

Operate all equipment in the sheet metal department, including brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders, and deburring machines
Fill all part requirements to complete rounds for the kitting department
Read rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, angle finders, protractors, and other measuring instruments
Read and follow written and verbal instructions
Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
Perform appropriate preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling
Examine finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rulers, calipers, templates, or gauges
Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly
Monitor operations of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications
Work at different workstations as production needs require
Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
Perform other duties as assigned

Location: Conyers, GA

Summary:

Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order
Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders
Lay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or covering
Apply primer, paint, and caulk as needed
Perform close up requirements
Other duties as assigned

What are the qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
